SPECIAL EDUCATION

Special Education Services – Legacy PCA provides each scholar with an individualized program designed to meet the scholar’s needs as an exceptional learner in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Act. The goal is to enable each scholar to utilize the potential that he/she possesses to become a well-adjusted contributing member of society. Legacy PCA believes that each scholar is entitled to this opportunity in the least restrictive environment. A full continuum of instructional and related services is available to eligible scholars, with initial consideration given to provision of services in the general education classroom to the greatest extent possible. Scholars spend various amounts of time in general education and special education settings, depending upon their specific needs. Parents are vital members of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) Committee, which develops an appropriate program of services for each scholar.
