SPOTLIGHT ON ENGINEERING IS ELEMENTARY (EIE)Posted On
Research has shown that to succeed in today’s marketplace, students need to have a STEM-based education rich in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. At Legacy Preparatory Charter Academy, we incorporate engineering into our project-based learning model through the Engineering Is Elementary program (K – 5) to give students the exposure they need to these topics early in their educational careers.
Engineering Is Elementary combines a nationally recognized curriculum from Boston’s Museum of Science with our prep school’s project-based learning model in grades K-5. At each level, engineering design is combined with a specific field of scientific study to engage students in creative and critical thinking activities that require collaboration and communication. Scholars get experience in solving real-world problems while building core STEM skills and are taught by staff members who have been certified in this curriculum by the Museum of Science in Boston.
Engineering Is Elementary is just one of the programs that make Legacy Preparatory Charter Academy such a rich learning environment. Our charter school also offers GT, Dual-Language, ESL, a dyslexia program, and more targeted learning experiences.
